Three day weekend
As I was getting into the car this morning, my cell phone rang. School is delayed because of all the rain and power failures. I started the process of going back to bed when my cell rang again. School is cancelled. A brief victory dance and back to bed. Though I couldn't sleep and just started puttering around on chores. Last night there was a power in our house just before I had just gotten up at half past midnight because I heard the rain and the wind shift. There has been over 12 inches of rain this month. and a tornado 20 miles from where I work last night. |

Done all my medical tests. So far, so good. Had the Mammogram yesterday and I'm waiting for the results. That and the test for gout. Summerschool is ACT prep. Its a half a day and probably I won't do it next year. Gas and time just whittle stuff away. Yes, New york tickets bought. |

there is a hell
I teach next to the "little theater". This week is the fundraiser for prom. "little" is accurate. They do several performances because the theater cannot hold a large group. Five today...if I ever hear "I wanna be a rock star" or "he lifts me up" (or some such gospel song) I will hurt somebody. |

fearsome guard puppy
I look out at my trash bin and a dog is going through it. We have a cage to try to keep things under control. It looks like a basset's body (low to the ground) but the head is not. I see a collar but no tag. Husband opens door and loyal, brave Bander shoots out halfway down the road chasing the intruder. He comes back very proud of himself and earned a puppy treat. |

Home improvement
My father sent us some money for Christmas marked "stove". Last week we finally got it installed. We had it for a time. yes in the middle of our kitchen was a stove box from Sears. I nice gas one with a griddle in the middle. Our plumber (yes I have a plumber he's redone my sewer line and other things) was busy with his wife having a ceasarian birth. Since it was a gas stove we wanted an expert to do it So as of last week. We had the stove installed, a garbage disposal and a flash water heater under the kitchen sink. The electrician who wired everything and the plumber had to come back on Sunday. The water heater kept popping the circuit breaker, it seems that the breaker had been installed wrong. The connection to the stove was leaking some and we smelled gas. He had to tighten the connection and it was fine after that. Next project steampunk keyboard. |

tired
I slept in late. Accomplishments My new computer is assembled and running. Poor hubby was beside himself, he could have put it together in less than an hour, it took me three, much less loading the software. Most of the software is loaded. Tomorrow I'll put it in the place of the old one and get the network and email set up. Then the joy of updating the programs and tweaking it. Thursday I'm giving a class on "how to tweak your computer" for the science club. I've also managed to get a presentation for how to lift fingerprints from a forensics professor. |

break time
We've both been on Christmas break. We realized that neither one of us will retire. We'd kill each other stuck in the house. (the cold weather and the fact his football team lost the bowl game is not my fault, therefore I should not be yelled at) |

whaaa?
I'm struggling some with my computer. I tell my husband and comment that I think the hard drive is dying. I've done checks for viruses, trojans etc. He says that he thinks the motherboard is dying. I don't argue with that. Also the DVD drive has been acting up. He's offered to get me a new box. Just as good as his, possibly better since there are new video cards out. Granted I have to rebuild and install everything, but still... okay need to make back ups... |

the k-sneezers
Up at 2 in the morning for the 3rd time sneezing and allergy. Dust from house build up. Using the sinus pulse helps but I whimpered this time. I even took allergy medicine before going to bed. A series of sneezes in a row that I have no control over. |
